Have all the Chinese come here? Isn’t it to be in two sessions? (They’re all Taiwanese [Formosan], and…) All Taiwanese (Formosan)? Have they all come? (There’s still one group coming.) Still another group? How’s your meditation? (Good.) Are there any questions about actual problems in spiritual practice? Say it? Now is your opportunity. You can ask. (I don’t have any experience.) There’re many kinds of experiences. I’ve spoken about this many times.

(Master, I have a question. Sometimes I hear the sound of You singing the Buddha’s Chanting, and sometimes I hear the sound of popular songs. Is it normal?) Normal. It’s normal. (They’re the songs I had heard before, playing alternatively. Is it normal?) Because it has been recorded inside. And then during the (inner Heavenly) Sound or Light meditation, they emerge, to be erased. (Yes. Many times.) OK. But they’ll be gone in the future.

(Master, if I’m not feeling well and cannot sit properly to meditate, is it OK if I lean on the bed?) You can, you can. Yes. If you really are not well, you can lie down or lie face down. Both are OK. Or sit on a chair. As long as you feel comfortable. Because, if you don’t feel comfortable, you cannot concentrate. Then it’s useless even if you sit cross-legged.

(Master, I have a question. Ever since practicing the Quan Yin Method, I find that someone is always following me, and using magical power to attract me. Wherever I go, he follows, and he always captures my signal. Sometimes I am afraid to go home. Because as soon as I get home, he… I feel very uncomfortable going home. Sometimes my mind gets confused, or I feel puzzled.) Who’s that person? (He’s my former master.) Oh! (Anyhow, he has magical power. He always uses magical power to attract me.) Didn’t you recite the Five Holy Names? Don’t be afraid of him. Tell him, “I don’t want you now!” (Yes, I did tell him. But sometimes, he’d suddenly, without my knowing, suddenly come to capture my signal or lure me.) It won’t happen like that. (And when I do the [inner Heavenly] Sound meditation, sometimes I feel I’ve been sitting for one hour, but there’s still no [inner Heavenly] Sound.)

How did he come to you? (He said that I had great affinity with him.) It’s alright. He comes as he wants, you do what you should do. Recite the Five Holy Names and ignore him. (Yes. Sometime when I… When I do the [inner Heavenly] Sound meditation, he sometimes would…) No Sound? (Sometimes. Anyway… After sitting for an hour, I don’t hear any [inner Heavenly] Sound. Sometimes there’s Sound actually, but I also felt that he was beside me and he was listening to my [inner Heavenly] Sound.) It’s alright. Let him eavesdrop. (Then sometimes the Sound suddenly disappeared.) Never mind. Don’t be so afraid. Because of your fear, you’re distracted and you don’t hear the (inner Heavenly) Sound. It’s not because of him. (OK.) Sometimes, because you had affinity with him before, and you liked him. That’s why now you still have this illusion of him. It may not be really him. Don’t blame the old guy. (OK.)

You yourself might feel a little embarrassed or guilty. Because you’re learning with me, you feel like you have betrayed him, and that you shouldn’t do that. Many qigong masters have also come to pay respects to me. So, you haven’t done anything wrong. Forgive yourself. Otherwise, you write to him and tell him what’s on your mind. (I already told him, and he knows that I don’t like him.) No! Don’t say that! Don’t say that. (Master, I…) You can’t say that you don’t like him! He has… (I want him to go. He always receives my signal. Anyway, he has magical power. His magical power always… That’s how it is. He always comes to get me.) No. It is not like that. It’s your own imagination. He wouldn’t use magical power to get a little girl. What for? He has a lot of disciples. He doesn’t need you. OK? Don’t blame others randomly. It’s your own incorrect concept. You’re not being grateful to your former master. You write a letter to thank him, saying that now you’ve found another Master who is more suitable for you and have more affinity with you. But you’ll always remember what he has taught you. Wish him peace, happiness, longevity, and a lot of disciples, etc. (Thank You, Master.) Buy a present for him. Send him a present (OK.) to express your appreciation. (OK. Thank You, Master.) Then there will be no trouble, OK? (OK.)

(Master, I…) Wait a second. You speak one by one, slowly. Use the microphone so that everyone can hear. (Master, my inner [Heavenly] Sound is music, but it’s all dark during the [inner Heavenly] Light meditation. Which level am I on?) Never mind about it. (Never mind about it.) When it’s dark, look at the darkness. (OK.) I’ve already told you about experiences. It’s good enough as long as we become a better person, and more loving. Why bother about the (inner Heavenly) Light? (Thank You.) Always clinging on to those things. Silly.

(Master, there’s a fellow initiate who saw the spots on my face and said that I…) I can’t see you. (Over here. A fellow initiate saw the spots on my face and said that I had a very bad temper. I truly have a bad temper. He said if I do the [inner Heavenly] Sound meditation continually for three hours every day, and continue for three months, my temper will improve. I started doing it, and I feel good. But I wonder, if I do the [inner Heavenly] Sound meditation continuously for three hours and the time for the [inner Heavenly] Light meditation is not enough, does it matter?) Then you have to make it up later. (Have to make it up. After three months, should I still continue to do it that way, or…) You do the (inner Heavenly) Light meditation more. (If, due to my work, I cannot meditate so much on the [inner Heavenly] Light, does it matter?) I don’t know. You try and see. (OK. OK. Thank You, Master.) You listen to the fellow initiate instead of listening to me, then why are you asking me? If you drink too much water, then eat too little food, does it matter? (It does.) It does matter. (Yes.)

(Master, it’s been three months, and the [inner Heavenly] Sound is very low. I don’t know what has happened?) You have to recite the Five Holy Names more before doing the (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation. (I do. I do. Since about three months.) OK. Then you do more. Recite the Five Holy Names for 30 minutes and then do the Sound meditation; it’ll be louder. (I see.) Concentrate more. Have to concentrate. (OK.) It’s so because your attention is distracted. (OK.)

(Thank You, Master.) Say it. (I am really in poor health.) Is she the one? (My body.) (Health, poor health.) Drink more tonics if you have poor health. Drink tonics. (Before, when my body ached, I prayed to Master to help me feel better. Master made me feel better right away.) What did you eat? (I don’t know. It just hurt very badly.) It hurt very badly, and then the pain disappeared suddenly. Is that so? (Yes, yes. I asked Master to heal me. I was sitting in our ashram, and then I was well immediately.) (She became well after praying to Master.) Prayed to me and you immediately got well? (Yes.) (OK. Thank You, Master.) Pray whenever you feel the pain. OK? (OK. OK.) You have such good medicine and you don’t take it, why are you still asking?

(Hallo, Master. When I meditate, my Wisdom Eye feels bloated and hurts very much, as if being forced to come out but couldn’t come out. This feeling is really unbearable. And, when I do the [inner Heavenly] Sound meditation. I do it in two sections. The first section is the [inner Heavenly] Light meditation for 45 minutes, then 30 minutes of [inner Heavenly] Sound meditation.) Forty-five minutes. Counted so clearly. (Yes, because I use the timer, for fear of misreading the time.) OK. Roughly like that. More or less. (Yes. roughly like that, and then…) Don’t have to spend so much effort checking the time constantly. (Then, when I do the [inner Heavenly] Sound meditation, after 15 minutes, the [inner Heavenly] Sound would suddenly diminish, until almost inaudible. After a while, it would slowly return to normal.) OK. Then you continue like that. About the feeling of bloating, perhaps you’re focusing too hard, forcing yourself too much. Just relax like when you sleep, and it’ll be fine. And look out from this Wisdom Eye. Don’t squeeze your muscle too hard; it will hurt. (Thank You, Master.) When it comes, it comes. If it doesn’t, then say, “Alright, if you don’t come out, just stay inside.” (OK. Thank You, Master, thank You.) Ignore it, then it won’t bother you. (OK. Thank You, Master. Thank you.) OK. You’re welcome.

(Before I sleep, I use some plastic or cotton to plug the ears. Can I do that? Just during sleep.) During sleep, it’s OK. If it is too noisy, you can do that. OK. Some people do that so they can sleep. It’s OK.

(Hallo Master, I have a question. It’s about the many spiritual powers that we have, or the power of Master’s spiritual practice. Sometimes, it will pass on to us through material things. For example, many things that are blessed by Master – Master’s Light will, through the blessed [vegan] food, bring blessings to disciples or to those who eat it, or to those who touch it. Similarly, when we spiritual practitioners, sometimes, for example, we go to people’s home, or use the chairs or beds that have been used by others, we’d also receive undesirable energy. My question is, in spiritual practice, especially Quan Yin practitioners like us, for example, we often get in touch with many things outside, and sometimes we don’t know how to avoid these kinds of things. For instance, when Master gives initiation, You use psychic power to transmit to us.) I got what you mean. (Then how does it go through the…) Recite the Five Holy Names. (…the material things?) You recite the Holy Names wherever you go. (OK. Then…) It’s unavoidable. Or you can only stay home and lock yourself up. (Perhaps there are some details that can let us be more…) I already told you. (More likely to avoid these things.)

(Master, I have a question.) You wait for a moment. Be patient, your turn will come for sure. (When I do the [inner Heavenly] Light meditation, I can’t settle down because of wandering thoughts. When reciting the Five Holy Names, sometimes the power is very weak. But it’s better with the [inner Heavenly] Sound meditation. If I do the [inner Heavenly] Light meditation better, the [inner Heavenly] Sound will be stronger.) Yes. (If I can’t do it well, but still persist till the [inner Heavenly] Light meditation is better, sometimes it takes me a long, long time and still cannot make the power stronger.) OK. Then do it whenever you can. It will come if it’s there. Sometimes it’s like that. Because we have too much work, too many wandering thoughts, which distract our attention. Sometimes we have too many worries, we have family, children, who will all distract us, make us unable to sit well. OK. Then you try your best. (Especially when I go outside, shopping at the market…) Yes, yes. (…or go outside to take care of some business. Once I come home, oh, it’s like…) Scattered. (The energy is consumed, it feels difficult to concentrate.) It’s OK. You try your best. (Does it matter?) Otherwise, you lock yourself up like the fellow initiate just now. (Yes.) You two together. Avoid contact, no touch, don’t go out, don’t look.

(Master, sometimes the Five Holy Names are kind of “weak.” Is this a problem?) The Holy Names are “weak”? (Yes. Sometimes while reciting, it seems it’s not me who is reciting it. It seems it is reciting by itself.) It’s alright. You try to do your best. Inevitably, sometimes we cannot concentrate. (Yes.) Don’t push yourself too hard. Try your best and do what you can. (OK. Thank You, Master.)

(Master, sometimes when I meditate, I enter samadhi very quickly. But having entered samadhi, I don’t know whether I am doing the [inner Heavenly] Light or the [inner Heavenly] Sound meditation. After waking up, I don’t know if I was doing the [inner Heavenly] Light or Sound meditation. Because I can’t remember anything.) It’s alright. Do what you prefer at that time. Do what you like. If you prefer the (inner Heavenly) Light, you continue the (inner Heavenly) Light meditation, If you prefer the (inner Heavenly) Sound, you continue the (inner Heavenly) Sound meditation. OK? You just try to do your best, then it’s OK.
