And I remember thinking to myself, “Landon, this is your last night on Earth.” I saw these Lights come down like a beam to me and hit me. And I saw these dark wispy, they didn’t have a form, but many, many dark things just boom, fled. And I know those were prayers. The people who took time to pray for me, they didn’t know that their prayers were working. But their prayers worked. Somehow I’m here, and I’m not going to waste this life. I’m not going to waste this message and this miracle that I was given. In Part 1 of 3 of Landon Dennis’ near-death experience, American former heroin addict Landon shares how he overdosed, died, and was visited by deceased loved ones — and how he literally saw prayers save his life.
Landon, 36, grew up in St. George, Utah, USA, in a loving home that was also haunted by shadow figures and dark entities. From a young age, he experienced both terrifying paranormal encounters and comforting visitations from deceased loved ones in dreams. As a young adult, a serious four-wheeler accident introduced him to pain pills, which led to a heroin addiction that cost him his home, his fiancée, and his daughter, and left him cycling between jail and homelessness. One day, at his parents’ house, while deep in addiction, he overdosed, suffered a seizure, and fell backwards off a high counter, cracking his head on the tile. His wife found him unconscious in a pool of blood, his head swelling rapidly. Paramedics rushed him to the hospital — and that is where his near-death experience began.
All of a sudden, I was above this ambulance. And I would say I was about — it’s hard to explain — four feet [1.2 meters] above the ambulance, but I could see through the ambulance, as if — imagine an ambulance being made out of saran wrap [clear plastic wrap]. It was almost like that. And I saw this group of men just working on me. And I felt so much depression, so much anxiety, so much grief, so much loss. It’s just, anything that you can think of that can make you feel really bad is what I was feeling above that, but all at once. And I was so confused, I didn’t understand what was happening, that I was looking at myself with these people working on me.
Floating above the ambulance, unable to stop moving with it, Landon was gripped by an unsettling thought. And I remember one thought in my head is, “Wow, is this it? Am I like a ghost stuck above my body for the rest of my life?” And it was terrifying, horrible. I could see myself through the ambulance, and them working on me, putting this drill needle thing in my knee. I didn’t feel physical pain. I was just feeling all the emotional and spiritual pain at that time when I was watching this. And honestly, I would have rather felt that physical pain in my knee. People say it’s one of the worst things that they can do to you to get an IV (intravenous line) in you, but that emotional and spiritual pain above that ambulance was indescribable.
When the anguish became unbearable, everything changed in an instant. Just Boom. There was no white tunnel. There was nothing like that. I was just, all of a sudden, standing in this huge, beautiful grass field. A beautiful green. And that grass loved me. It was [an] amazing sensation. And as I’m looking down, I could see every blade of grass. And I looked up farther, and I would say, about a quarter mile [400 meters] away, was just this hill, kind of just rainbow-shaped hill. But I could still see every blade of grass in front of me, even if I was focusing on the distance. And I don’t have good eyesight. Like, I wear glasses. And it’s hard to describe that — when you can see this thing that, on Earth, is just grass to you, but there, it was something that was loving me and comforting me.
As the field stretched out before him, Landon’s attention fixed on the hill in the distance — and the Light rising from behind it. And I saw that hill, and I saw these beautiful Lights behind that hill. And when I saw that, I felt my grandpa. And he was sending me love. And it was almost like he was hugging me and saying, “I love you.” Join us tomorrow for Part 2 of 3 of Landon Dennis’ near-death experience. (Anthony Chene production)
